Shopify fee calculator
See your real monthly platform cost on Shopify — subscription plus the extra fee Shopify charges when you use a payment provider other than Shopify Payments — next to the same store on Omniterra.
Cash on delivery and bank transfer count as manual payments and carry no Shopify transaction fee. If Shopify Payments isn’t available in your country, every card payment goes through another provider.
How Shopify’s fees add up
On top of the monthly subscription, Shopify adds a transaction fee to every order paid through a provider other than Shopify Payments: 2% on Basic, 1% on Grow and 0.6% on Advanced. On a store selling €10,000 a month through PayPal, that is €200 a month on Basic — more than the subscription itself.
Omniterra charges a monthly plan with 0% commission, so the cost stays the same whichever payment provider your customers choose.
Frequently asked questions
Does Shopify charge a transaction fee on cash on delivery?
No. Cash on delivery and bank transfer are manual payment methods, and Shopify’s extra transaction fee applies to external payment providers, not to manual payments.
When does Shopify charge the extra transaction fee?
When a payment goes through a provider other than Shopify Payments — for example PayPal, a local card processor, or any provider in a country where Shopify Payments isn’t available. The fee depends on the plan: 2% on Basic, 1% on Grow and 0.6% on Advanced.
Are card processing fees included?
No. Card processing fees are charged by the payment provider on both platforms, so they are left out to compare what the platform itself costs you.
Does Omniterra charge a commission?
No. Omniterra charges 0% commission on every plan, whichever payment provider you use.
